THE SUGAR COLLECTION
The Sugar Collection is ASME’s exploration of colourful statement knitwear. Hand-knitted in Ireland from 100% premium Italian wool, the collection translates the signature Fraggle fur-stitch into scarves, snoods, gilets and sculptural wool capes.
Saturated colour sits at the centre of Sugar. Navy, camel, peach, sage, lemon, blue and red move through graphic patterns and dense textural surfaces, creating knitwear designed to be seen rather than simply layered.
The fur-stitch gives each piece its distinctive dimension. Worked densely by hand, lengths of wool build into a soft, tactile surface that shifts with the body. In the Sugar Gilet and Cape, that texture moves beyond the accessory and begins to define the silhouette itself.
These are statement pieces designed to work against simplicity: a colourful knitted gilet over a shirt, an oversized wool cape over restrained tailoring, or a sculptural scarf against a dark winter coat.
Every Sugar piece is handmade in Ireland in limited quantities using natural Italian wool. Production remains deliberately small, allowing colour, material and craft to retain their individuality.
For ASME, colour is not decoration. It is part of the construction.

Contemporary Knitwear, Made by Hand in Ireland
ASME is an independent knitwear studio creating hand-knitted scarves, accessories and statement pieces from exceptional Italian yarns. Cashmere, silk, silk bouclé and premium wool are selected for their handle, colour and ability to create extraordinary texture.
At the centre of the collection is ASME’s signature fur-stitch - a labour-intensive technique used to build dense, sculptural surfaces entirely through yarn. Across the Fraggle, Sugar, Lola, Põma Põma and Noble Fraggle collections, that textural language shifts from pure Italian wool and saturated colour to brushed cashmere, silk, macramé, fringing and art-inspired compositions.
Scarves sit alongside knitted snoods, gilets, capes, hats and accessories, each made slowly and in deliberately limited quantities. Some pieces are produced in small editions; others are inherently limited by the availability of rare Italian yarns.
Founded on more than two decades of experience in luxury knitwear design, ASME brings the precision of fashion together with the individuality of hand craft. Every piece is made in Ireland with an emphasis on natural materials, exceptional texture and a more considered approach to production.
